Radiation hydrodynamic simulations of turbulent HII regions

These movies show the development of the ionisation-fronts in a driven turbulent medium described in Kakiichi & Gronke (2018) (arxiv link). The four simulations with varying turbulent velocities are shown below. Movie 1 (velocity dispersion=18km/s) corresponds to Figure 1 in Kakiichi & Gronke (2018). For comparison, the other three simulations with low (2km/s) and intermediate (9km/s) velocity dispersions as well as with compressive forcing (18km/s) are shown.
