Dear Robin,

Let us be very clear: there is no (repeat NO) "obligation"
attached to the First Saturday devotion or to any part of it. It
is a private devotion, entirely left up to the free choice of
those who wish to pursue it. I try myself to make the five First
Saturdays, so I am not making light of this form of Marian piety.
But it is in no way obligatory.

The three children of Fatima reported that Our Lady requested the
five First Saturdays. Part of her request, they said, was Mass
and Communion on those days. If you offer Mass and Communion on a
first Saturday AT ANY HOUR and fulfil the other conditions
reported by the children, then you have "made the First Saturday"
for that month.

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Mateo

- Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit -
