Dear Carolyn,
If you attend Mass on First Saturday at any hour, it fulfils the
First Saturday requirement. It is always permissible to receive
Communion twice a day AS LONG AS THE SECOND COMMUNION IS RECEIVED
WHILE ATTENDING A COMPLETE MASS.
What's wrong with legalism? Human beings alone among God's
creatures on earth are able to make laws, receive them, conform
to them -- or disobey them. Capacity for law is one of our human
perfections, part of our human dignity. God compliments us by
giving us the Ten Commandments.
People who don't like to obey law use the word "legalism" as a
scare-word. But right-thinking folk should not scare that easily.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Mateo
