Dear Joey,

The Bible does not teach that the Bible alone is God's Word. Besides the
Bible, there is oral tradition. This is the teaching of 2 Thess 2:14-15.

For at least 20 years after Our Lord's Ascension there was no New
Testament. It had not been written yet. The whole message of Jesus
was oral tradition then, conveyed by apostolic preaching.

Then and now, the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth (1st
Tim 3:15). The Church is the Body of Christ and we are her members,
all the baptized (1 Cor 12:12-27; Col 1:24; Eph 5:21-32).

I repeat: God's word is contained in Scripture and oral tradition as
interpreted and taught by Christ's Church. The Church's right to
teach comes from Christ, the Church's head.

                                        Sincerely in Christ,

                                                Father Mateo
