After receiving your message, I read the article on the Martyrs of
Uganda in the New Catholic Encyclopedia, vol. 14, p 363 and the official
acts of their canonization in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis 56 (1964), pp.
901-902.  In neither place is there any hint of any of these 22 martyrs
being catechumens and unbaptized.  In fact, the Pope makes mention of
OTHER groups (whom he is NOT canonizing) namely:    1) Anglicans and
2) Catholic CATECHUMENS.
