The UIST Imager Spectrometer for UKIRT
Suzanne Ramsay Howat (ATC)
A near-infrared imaging spectrometer for the UK Infrared Telescope is
currently under developement at the UK ATC. UIST will fully exploit the
angular resolution provided by the upgraded telescope, offering imaging
with two plate scales and spectroscopy from 1-5microns. UIST will also
contain a deployable integral field unit, capable of taking spectra over a
contiguous 4.3x6.8 arcsec field with a spatial resolution of
0.24x0.48arcsec. This poster will present an overview of the design,
progress at the ATC and the expected performance of the instrument.
