The Royal Observatory, Greenwich: what we want to do for you.

Robin Catchpole (Royal Observatory Greenwich)

The ROG provides the ideal location to display the achievements of UK astronomy. We are currently answering public enquiries at the rate of 10,000 per year while the Observatory is host to 600,000 visitors and the education section deals with 10,000 students in the same period. We have a dedicated webmaster, with an astronomy research background, who maintains our internet site (www.rog.nmm.ac.uk). With your co-operation, we want to use our site to exhibit highlights of UK research astronomy, which has been so sadly neglected by the media. Future prospects at the ROG include the Faulkes 2m robotic telescope and the development of an Astronomy Science Centre.
