Multi-wavelength studies of narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies

Narrow Line Seyfert 1 galaxies are a peculiar subclass of Seyfert
galaxies showing the optical line flux properties of Sy 1s, though
with permitted optical line widths less than 2000km/s. They also show
a very steep X-ray specrum, often containing a strong soft X-ray
excess and showing rapid and strong X-ray variability.
We review current theoretical models for Narrow Line Seyfert 1 AGN and
report on our extensive multi-wavelength observational study of
Narrow Line Seyfert 1 galaxies, which spans radio through X-rays, and
our near infra-red spectroscopy and imaging studies using the UKIRT.
