ISO data - access and data reduction
Helen Walker (RAL)
The Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) was launched by ESA on 17 November
1995, and lasted for 29 months before the liquid helium coolant finally
ran out. The four instruments on ISO (camera, photometer, and two
spectrometers) operated between 2 microns and 240 microns, in a wide
variety of modes. There are around 30,000 observations in the ISO Data
Archive, together with serendipity and parallel mode data, all of which
are now public domain. Access to the archive is made via the Web, and
additional data reduction is possible using specialist interactive
analysis packages, provided by the instrument teams. Information about
the status and planned improvements for the data processing will be
given, with examples.
