SOHO - so far so good

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) was
launched in December 1995. It carries a range of
instruments designed to study the solar interior,
the solar atmosphere and the solar wind.
This talk is an overview of advances which have
been made in our understanding of the nature
of the solar atmosphere; transition region
and corona. In particular, the talk addresses
two of the major solar puzzles; how is the solar
corona heated and where is the source of
the solar wind?
