The Martian atmosphere & climate, and the 1999 Mars Climate Surveyor mission

An experiment developed in the UK, USA and Russia to study the atmospheric circulation, weather and climate on Mars is on its way to the red planet following the successful launch of Mars Climate Surveyor on 11 December last year. Arrival in Mars orbit is scheduled for 23rd September 1999. This talk will describe the mission and the investigations to be carried out.
