UKIRT report

1998/9 saw the arrival of the UKIRT Fast-Track Imager (UFTI), the completion of
the UKIRT Upgrades Programme, and the final run of IRCAM-3. Highlights of
results from UFTI will be presented, and a summary of the outcome of the
Upgrades Programme will be given. We will also describe recent advances in
top-end control and seeing measurement, and preview the ORAC system, which
will integrate telescope and instrument control and data reduction. The
ORAC data-reduction pipeline is in extensive use at the JAC, and provides
excellent first-look reduction of mosaic data; examples of its use with
UFTI are given.
